The Portuguese Science Summit 2024, Portugal’s premier annual event on science and innovation, is set to take place from 3rd to 5th July at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre in Porto. This year’s edition, held under the theme “+Science for Health and Global Wellbeing,” will bring together leading scientists, researchers, and experts to discuss cutting-edge advancements across various disciplines.

The S34I project is proud to participate in the event’s e-Poster session, where it will present the research titled “Projeto S34I – Contribuição de novos métodos de deteção remota na prospeção e exploração mineral.” This presentation highlights how innovative Earth Observation (EO) techniques can enhance mineral exploration, contributing to more sustainable and efficient resource management.

Organised by the University of Porto, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and Ciência Viva, the summit provides a unique platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. S34I’s participation underscores its commitment to advancing remote sensing methodologies for raw materials exploration and environmental monitoring, aligning with European objectives for sustainable mining practices.
