The S34I project was proudly represented at EGU2025, one of Europe’s most significant geoscience events, during Session ITS3.16/ERE6.4 – Collaborative Actions Across the European Raw Material Value Chain.

Mercedes Suárez Barrios, from the University of Salamanca, presented the outcomes of S34I’s work at the Aramo pilot site in Asturias, Spain. This initiative showcased how non-invasive and responsible exploration technologies can be applied to evaluate raw material potential, all while ensuring active engagement with local communities.

S34I’s approach reflects a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, key values underpinning the project’s broader European objectives.

The session also featured several other Horizon Europe projects—such as DEXPLORE, DeepBEAT, AGEMERA, EIS, MultiMiner, GoldenRAM, and SEMACRET—each offering insights into innovative approaches across the raw materials sector.

A concluding open discussion created space for collaboration and critical reflection. Participants addressed shared challenges and emphasised the importance of social awareness and public engagement in developing a more inclusive and transparent raw materials future.

EGU2025 continues to serve as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, reinforcing the value of cooperation across projects and disciplines.

S34I remains committed to pushing boundaries in responsible raw material exploration—one community and one innovation at a time.
