The S34I project had the pleasure of participating in the 11th International Conference on Sustainable Development in the Mining Industry (SDIMI 2024), held in Torino, Italy. This important forum aimed to advance the sustainable use of mineral resources through scientific, technical, educational, and research efforts.

During the conference, Maria Mavroudi from Montanuniversität Leoben delivered an insightful presentation on S34I, titled “Earth Observation Technologies for a Sustainable Mining Sector: A Social Study.” Her presentation highlighted the role of Earth Observation (EO) technologies in fostering environmentally responsible and socially accepted mining practices.
S34I continues to make an impact across key international forums, engaging with industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to share advancements in digital and remote sensing technologies for sustainable mining.
